Wow! I normally never watch subtitled movies. I was hoping this was just a foreign movie with English speaking actors. I watched a minute too long and got sucked into it. The first thing that caught my attention was "based on a true story".
Them starts out and goes on for some time with these noises. Some I thought were scary and some just seemed repeated too much. Wait until you find out what one of the noises is at the end.
My absolute favorite part was when Clem was crawling through the tunnel huffing and puffing and then when she comes to the end, it is barred and she is frantically trying to get one of the bypassing cars to pay attention to her outstretched arms. Then the very end where the kids step out from the woods and get on the bus. Freak me out.
I really liked this movie. Sparse on speaking, heavy on the sounds and creepy settings. Twist ending - good deal.

My Amityville Horror review
Posted : 11 years, 2 months ago on 30 September 2013 01:24 (A review of My Amityville Horror)I caught this movie on Netflix. I mistakenly thought at first glance, it was another documentary with Ronald Defeo. He killed his family in the infamous Amityville house. In reality, it is about Daniel Lutz and the trauma/effect staying in the Amityville house as a child has had on his life until now. He also talks vehemently about the relationship he had with his stepfather, George Lutz. He explains that some of the scenarios in the films came from things that really happened while he was living there.
I liked the parts where old photographs of the house were shown the most and I did enjoy watching this film. I've watched The Amityville Horror starring James Brolin several times and also other documentaries about the story. This one was different in that I had not seen or heard Daniel Lutz talk before and his story was interesting to say the least. It's definitely a "whatever happened to" film.
I would recommend this film to people who are interested in paranormal activity, true stories, or horror trivia and obviously to Amityville Horror enthusiasts.
